Four arrested at Tigard motel, accused of transporting 370 gallons of liquid heroin weighing 1.4 tons
Portland, OR -
Four suspected drug traffickers linked to a Mexican criminal organization were caught transporting 370 gallons of liquid heroin in Oregon. They were charged with drug-related offenses. Law enforcement tracked them down and seized the drugs, which could make 53 million fatal doses. Liquid heroin is unusual, and the traffickers were initially thought to be carrying liquid fentanyl. The case highlights cartels' efforts to introduce liquid drugs into the U.S. market. Two of the suspects were granted pretrial release, but one had it revoked due to the nature of the offense. The investigation involved multiple agencies.

Bend Man Arrested for Cocaine Trafficking
Bend, OR – A lengthy and meticulous investigation led by the Central Oregon Drug Enforcement Team (CODE) culminated in the arrest of a Bend resident, Daynen J Wolfe, on February 1st, 2024, for his alleged involvement in cocaine trafficking within the Bend area.
The CODE team, in collaboration with the Bend Police Department, had been closely monitoring Daynen Wolfe, a 46-year-old Bend resident, since late 2023. Their preliminary findings indicated that Mr. Wolfe played a central role in the distribution of cocaine, particularly in and around bars located in the south Bend area.
The decisive moment came on the night of February 1st when CODE Detectives, conducting a surveillance operation, apprehended Daynen Wolfe and an alleged customer in the parking lot of a bar on the 61000 block of S Highway 97 in Bend, around 10 PM. Both individuals were detained and questioned on the spot. The alleged customer was subsequently released with a citation for possession of a controlled substance.
With sufficient evidence gathered during the investigation, CODE Detectives secured a search warrant for Mr. Wolfe's truck and his temporary residence, believed to be his parent's residence on the 20000 block of Mel Court in Bend.
During the search of Daynen Wolfe's Ford F150, authorities discovered a commercial quantity of cocaine along with additional evidence that further corroborated his involvement in cocaine distribution activities. The search of his parent's residence also yielded non-drug-related evidence relevant to the ongoing investigation.
The case remains active, with additional suspects identified, and further arrests are anticipated as the investigation unfolds.
Daynen Wolfe has been taken into custody and is currently being held at the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Jail, facing a series of charges that include:
- Unlawful Distribution of Cocaine
- Unlawful Manufacture of Cocaine
- Unlawful Possession of Cocaine
It is important to emphasize that criminal complaints merely outline charges, and defendants are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Sgt. Kent Vander Kamp, the spokesperson for CODE, is available for additional information and can be reached at 541-550-4869 or via email at [email protected].
The Central Oregon Drug Enforcement Team (CODE) operates as a multi-jurisdictional narcotics task force with the backing of the Oregon-Idaho High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) program, collaborating with various law enforcement agencies in Central Oregon. These agencies include the Bend Police Department, Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office, Redmond Police Department, Prineville Police Department, Crook County Sheriff’s Office, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Madras Police Department, Oregon State Police, Sunriver Police Department, Black Butte Police Department, United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Warm Springs Tribal Police Department, Deschutes, Crook, and Jefferson County District Attorney’s offices, and the Oregon National Guard.
The CODE team employs an intelligence-driven, multi-agency, prosecutor-supported approach to identify, disrupt, and dismantle local, multi-state, and international drug trafficking organizations. The team's efforts are supported by the Oregon-Idaho HIDTA program, an Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) sponsored counterdrug grant program that collaborates with and provides funding resources to multi-agency drug enforcement initiatives, including CODE.

Deschutes County may join Portland area in declaring 90-day state of emergency to address fentanyl crisis
Commissioner Patti Adair urges statewide emergency; Bend mayor pro tem supports county move
BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) – Deschutes County commissioners will discuss next week whether to join the Portland area in declaring a 90-day local state of emergency to address the fentanyl “public health and safety crisis.”
Oregon Gov. Tina Kotek joined city of Portland and Multnomah County leaders earlier this week in the joint declaration of a state of emergency to address the impacts of the fentanyl crisis in downtown Portland.
“As the dramatic negative impacts of fentanyl distribution and use exist across the state, the Board of County Commissioners will consider declaring a local State of Emergency regarding the significant public health and safety crisis arising from the presence and effects of fentanyl in Deschutes County,” next Wednesday’s agenda item states.
The item is on the agenda at the request of Commissioner Patti Adair, who told NewsChannel 21 Friday she’d sent the governor a text message and “told her it should be statewide,” since the same issues are affecting the entire state.
Adair noted that county health officials had expressed public concern over four fatal fentanyl overdoses in a six-day period in early January, and “the Health Department says it’ll only get worse.”
The three commissioners have not yet discussed joining in the state of emergency, Adair said, but she heard from Bend City Councilor and Mayor Pro Tem Megan Perkins, who serves on the Homeless Leadership Council Board with Adair, and who agreed the emergency is a statewide issue.
Perkins told NewsChannel 21 Friday: "I am in full support of the county declaring a state of emergency on fentanyl."
"The number of deaths and overdoses is skyrocketing in Deschutes County," Perkins said. "Anything the county, our public health entity, can do to cut any red tape and move with expediency will help save lives.
"I would also encourage the governor to consider a state of emergency for Oregon, so that we can marshal even more resources to fight this terrible drug that is causing so much pain and suffering in our state," she added.
Commissioner Tony DeBone told NewsChannel 21 he doesn't know how he'll vote, if one takes place on the proposed order, as he wants to look at all the details and discuss it. But he said that even if it doesn't bring more resources to the county, it's worth considering, for the added awareness.
DeBone said he and Adair will be in Salem on Monday for the start of the Oregon Legislature's 35-day "short" session to talk with lawmakers about the changes being sought to Measure 110, which decriminalized hard drugs.

Harnessing the Power of NUCCA: A Gentle Approach to Whole-Body Wellness
In the quest for holistic health and wellness, an innovative chiropractic technique known as NUCCA (National Upper Cervical Chiropractic Association) is gaining attention for its gentle, precise approach to restoring body balance and enhancing well-being. Rooted in meticulous research and a deep understanding of the human anatomy, NUCCA presents a non-invasive pathway to health that harmonizes the intricate relationship between the spine, nervous system, and overall body function.
The NUCCA Philosophy
The NUCCA technique revolves around the principle that the body's balance and health are profoundly influenced by the alignment of the upper cervical spine (the neck region). A misalignment in this area, often undetectable to the untrained eye, can disrupt the nervous system's function, leading to various health issues ranging from chronic pain to systemic conditions. NUCCA chiropractors employ detailed x-rays and mathematical calculations to pinpoint individual misalignments, addressing the root cause of discomfort and disease rather than just treating symptoms.
A Legacy of Precision and Care
Developed in the mid-20th century by Dr. Ralph Gregory and furthered by John Grostic, NUCCA has evolved through decades of clinical research and practice. This legacy of precision and care culminates in a technique that is as meticulous as it is gentle, aiming to realign the body's structure without the need for forceful adjustments. The technique's foundational seminar in 1966 marked the beginning of a new chapter in chiropractic care, focusing on the biomechanics of the upper cervical spine and its profound impact on health.
How NUCCA Works
NUCCA chiropractic targets the Atlas Subluxation Complex, a condition involving the misalignment of the cervical vertebrae, which can compromise the nervous system's functionality. By realigning the atlas—the topmost vertebra—NUCCA practitioners aim to restore the natural balance of the spine and, by extension, the entire body. This delicate adjustment facilitates the body's innate healing abilities, leading to improved health outcomes for conditions as varied as asthma, carpal tunnel syndrome, fibromyalgia, and more.
The NUCCA Difference
What sets NUCCA apart from traditional chiropractic techniques is its focus on precision and minimal intervention. The adjustment process is tailored to each patient's unique spinal misalignment, ensuring a personalized treatment plan that is both effective and non-intrusive. This patient-centric approach, combined with the technique's rigorous analytical framework, offers a holistic path to recovery and wellness that respects the body's natural mechanisms.
Embracing NUCCA in Your Wellness Journey
For those seeking a holistic, non-invasive approach to health, NUCCA presents a compelling option. Whether grappling with chronic conditions or striving for optimal wellness, the NUCCA technique offers a path to improved health that is grounded in precision, care, and the body's innate capacity for self-healing. As our community continues to explore diverse avenues of health and wellness, the NUCCA approach stands out as a beacon of gentle, effective care that aligns with our collective quest for balanced, healthy living.
In embracing NUCCA, we welcome a technique that not only addresses the symptoms but seeks to restore the body's natural harmony and balance. It's a testament to the power of gentle intervention and the profound connections within our bodies—a technique that not only adjusts the spine but aligns our health journey towards greater well-being and vitality.
